❓ Tier List FAQ
Real questions players ask when reading a tier list. No fluff — just what you actually need to know.
I just pulled [agent]. Are they worth building?
Quick verdicts for each tier, based on how they perform right now:
- S-Tier agents — Build immediately if they fit your team's element and role. Examples: Miyabi is the best Ice anomaly in the game and slots into almost any team. Ye Shunguang is Physical attack with no real competition at the top.
- A-Tier agents — Worth building. The gap between A and S is often one good W-Engine or a few substat rolls. Evelyn, Hugo Vlad, Burnice — all can clear endgame comfortably.
- B-Tier agents — Build if you lack alternatives in that element/role. Ellen Joe is still the only S-rank Ice Attack. She clears content fine; she just has lower ceiling than newer options.
- C-Tier agents — Build if you love the character. Nekomata can clear Shiyu Defense with the right team and discs. But if you have limited resources, invest in higher-tier options first.
Rule of thumb: a "bad" agent with a maxed W-Engine and optimized discs outperforms a "meta" agent with random gear. Investment > tier ranking.
What are the best teams right now?
These teams consistently top clear times across endgame modes. Pick the one that matches the agents you already have:
- Miyabi + Yanagi + Support — Disorder spam. Miyabi procs Frostburn, Yanagi detonates Shock, the cycle chains into huge disorder bursts. The undisputed ceiling for Anomaly teams.
- Ye Shunguang + Stunner + Sunna — Classic hypercarry. YSG has the highest raw ATK scaling among attack agents. Stun → chain attack → YSG dumps everything during the stun window.
- Nangong Yu + Attack + Support — Ether stun core. Nangong builds daze faster than anyone else against Ether-weak enemies. Pair her with Aria or Zhu Yuan for elemental synergy.
- Pyrois + Norma + Nicole — Best low-cost team. Pyrois is free, Nicole is free, Norma is the only limited pull. Covers all three roles and synergizes out of the box.
- Soldier 11 + Koleda + Lucy — Full F2P fire team. All units are standard banner or free. Solid Shiyu Defense performance with minimal investment.

Does this tier list apply to mobile players?
Partly, but not entirely. Tier lists are based on optimal play at high FPS with precise inputs. Mobile introduces real differences:
- Agents that are harder on mobile: Jane Doe (rapid dodge timing), Ellen Joe (dash-cancel combos), Harumasa (aimed EX shots). These aren't worse — they just require more practice on touch controls. They drop about half a tier in practical mobile performance.
- Agents that feel the same on mobile: Miyabi (forgiving i-frames), Burnice (hold-button playstyle), Zhu Yuan (lock-on shots), Caesar (shield-and-forget). These perform identically across platforms because their kits don't rely on frame-perfect inputs.
- Controller helps a lot. If you play on mobile with a Bluetooth controller (Backbone, Xbox, PS5), the tier list applies exactly as-is. The gap is purely about touchscreen controls vs physical buttons.
For mobile players, A-tier agents with forgiving kits often outperform S-tier agents that demand precision. Miyabi is S on both platforms because her kit is powerful and accessible.
Should I skip B and C tier agents entirely?
No — with caveats. Tier lists measure ceiling, not viability. Here is how to decide:
- Element coverage matters more than tier. If you have zero Ice DPS agents, Ellen Joe (B-tier) is infinitely more valuable to your account than a second Fire S-tier. You need at least one carry per element for Shiyu Defense rotations.
- Some B-tier agents are one buff away from A. Grace was considered low-tier until the Anomaly meta took off. Billy got significantly better with the 2.0 physical support additions. Meta shifts.
- Personal comfort beats tier ranking. If you play Corin better than Evelyn, your Corin team will clear faster. Comfort with an agent's rotation and timing matters more than spreadsheet DPS.
- Resource management is the real constraint. It takes roughly 2-3 weeks of daily farming to max one agent. If you are free-to-play, investing in a C-tier agent means delaying your S-tier build. That is the real cost — not that the agent is "bad."
Why do tier lists change every patch?
Tiers move for three main reasons. Understanding these helps you predict what will change next:
- New agents release. A new S-rank in the same role pushes existing agents down. Example: Ye Shunguang's release shifted every Physical Attack agent down at least one tier because his kit is objectively stronger at the same role.
- New support agents enable old carries. Burnice was considered mid-tier until the Anomaly support roster expanded. She didn't change — her teammates did. This is the most common reason an agent "rises" without a direct buff.
- Endgame content favors specific mechanics. If Shiyu Defense cycles favor Ether damage, Ether agents temporarily outperform. If the new boss is immune to freeze, Miyabi's relative value dips. These are temporary shifts, not permanent tier changes.
Practical takeaway: S-tier supports and stunners hold their value longest. S-tier DPS agents can drop within 2-3 patches if a direct upgrade releases. Diversify by role and element — don't chase the flavor of the month.
How should I use this tier list to plan my pulls?
A tier list is a snapshot, not a shopping list. Here is a pull strategy that accounts for how metas actually evolve:
- Step 1 — Fill your role gaps first. If you don't have a Stun agent, pulling any S or A-tier Stun agent (Lighter, Qingyi, or even M6 Anby) will improve your account more than pulling your third S-tier DPS. A team with 1 DPS + 1 Stun + 1 Support clears more content than 3 DPS.
- Step 2 — Prioritize S-tier Supports over S-tier DPS. Sunna, Astra Yao, and Caesar King are still in top teams 6+ months after release. DPS agents cycle faster. Every veteran player will tell you the same thing: invest in supports.
- Step 3 — Wait for the version livestream. The current banners are always active during the preview stream. You lose nothing by waiting one week to see if the next patch's agent is a direct upgrade for your roster.
- Step 4 — The W-Engine banner is optional. As F2P, an R5 Battle Pass weapon or a standard S-rank W-Engine is competitive with limited W-Engines. Only pull W-Engines after you have your core team.

Can I clear endgame with C-tier agents?
Yes. The tier list assumes optimal play at the highest level — speedrunning Shiyu Defense, max-scoring Deadly Assault. But in practice:
- A well-invested C-tier agent with a maxed W-Engine, optimized 4+2 discs with good substats, and a synergistic team can and does clear all content in the game. The clear might be 30 seconds slower than an S-tier alternative. That's it.
- The biggest factor is not tier — it's whether you built a full team. 3 agents that synergize (correct elements, matching faction, complementary roles) will always outperform 3 stronger agents thrown together randomly.
- Player skill can compensate for tier gaps. A player who knows enemy patterns, dodge timing, and rotation order on a C-tier agent will out-damage a player button-mashing on an S-tier.
If you love Corin, build Corin. Just make sure her W-Engine is leveled, her discs aren't random, and her teammates actually help her do her job. The tier list is a guide, not a gatekeeper.
